attraction located in Rapid City, South Dakota. Come meet "The Cat in the Hat", Winnie the Pooh and over 100 other favorite childhood characters. This year the park added a 25 foot pirate ship!

Storybook Island is a Not for Profit Organization To keep the park open and free, we depend on your donations.

No outside food is allowed in the park.  Please visit our concession stands and help keep the park open and free!

Please note: There is no outside food or drink allowed in Storybook Island unless you are renting one of our facilities. If you are renting please keep your food at the rental site.

We are doing this in hopes that you will support our concession stands which helps Storybook Island stay a free park.

Storybook Island Season and Hours

The 50th season of Storybook Island Park will begin May 23, 2009 at 9:00 AM. and runs 7 days a week through Labor Day, 9 AM - 7 PM.

  We have a wheelchair accessible swing available in the park for children in wheelchairs. Please stop at the giftshop and ask about it. For children 9 and under the caboose car on our children's train is accessible as well.

Storybook Island Theater:

Plays are performed at 10, 11, AM and Noon Tues-Sat.

Pirate Ship is here!
At long last the pirate ship has arrived! At 25 feet long it is a wonderful new addition to the park. There is a parrot on board along with the pirate keeping watch in the crows nest. All we need now is the captain at the wheel, that would be you.
